The question arises: which fails first, the family or society? Often, parents become so enamored with what society offers that they neglect to invest time and guidance in their children. Consequently, children, lacking parental direction, are easily swayed by societal influences, perpetuating a cycle that intensifies with each new generation.
This cycle becomes even more destructive when trauma enters the equation. Trauma compounds the existing issues, leading to irreversible consequences for many children. Without a support system, they turn to destructive coping mechanisms like drugs and harmful behaviors.
This scenario reflects a pervasive disconnection. Parents prioritize their own needs over their children’s, and society prioritizes progress and wealth above all else. Ignoring deep-rooted issues like childhood sexual abuse only perpetuates the cycle of harm and prevents true healing.
