Find Yourself

I once learned that when you’re not meant to be in a certain place, career, relationship, or situation, you’ll start receiving signs from God or messages indicating it’s time to leave. If you resist, you’ll become so uncomfortable with yourself that you’ll be compelled to part ways.

This was my experience for many years. Plagued by trauma and unhealed childhood wounds, I never felt comfortable in my own skin or content with my circumstances. I always sensed that something was off, accompanied by a constant buzz of anxiety just beneath the surface. I had recurring dreams and nightmares about certain people or choices, waking up in a sweat. I felt perpetually uneasy but refused to confront the thing I knew, just beyond my periphery, that I was ignoring or suppressing because I was too afraid of change.

I kept hoping for a divine intervention, a clear sign. While find I didn’t receive a grand one, I received subtle signs over the years, every day of my life.

When I began to embark on my own journey with God, everything in my life started to fall into place. The people who were meant to be in my life stayed. Behaviors that I had struggled to control seemed to dissipate. The trauma, anxiety, and accompanying depression that had haunted me for years suddenly felt lifted.

Somewhere along this journey, I discovered my own power and spiritual gifts. It’s a beautiful experience to be aligned with your highest self, to live in your purpose, do what you love, and create with passion.
