Question: Does God allow a pedophile free reign without accountability?
It seems to me that some Christians teach this. Love and forgive is the only message you hear at most churches. So, is that biblical or would God hold out a different standard for the sacrifice of children? And pedophilia is the “sacrifice of children!” Let’s be clear about that crime and not minimize it.
Ezekiel, whose name means “strengthened by God,” grew up in Jerusalem, where he trained to be a priest in the temple. While in Babylon Ezekiel became a prophet of God; he is the author of the Old Testament book that bears his name.
Ezekiel’s ministry began with condemnation and judgment of the nation Judah. After the destruction of Jerusalem, Ezekiel’s prophecies speak of hope for the future. Ezekiel wanted to help the people learn from their failures.
Do we ignore the Old Testament completely? I should hope not! It shows what God considers important.

Ezekiel 14 talks about people that come to God’s prophet but harbor idols and “detestable practices!” Those detestable practices included “child sacrifice.”
This is Ezekiel speaking:
“14 Some of the elders of Israel came to me and sat down in front of me. 2 Then the word of the Lord came to me: 3 “Son of man, these men have set up idols in their hearts and put wicked stumbling blocks before their faces. Should I let them inquire of me at all? 4 Therefore speak to them and tell them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: When any of the Israelites set up idols in their hearts and put a wicked stumbling block before their faces and then go to a prophet, I the Lord will answer them myself in keeping with their great idolatry. 5 I will do this to recapture the hearts of the people of Israel, who have all deserted me for their idols.’
6 “Therefore say to the people of Israel, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Repent! Turn from your idols and renounce all your detestable practices!
The next time you speak with a pedophile that has destroyed a life or entire families by “sacrificing children,” make sure you tell that person to “turn from their idols and renounce all of their detestable practices.”
This is how you will find the wounded and recapture their hearts.
