Adversity isn’t an enemy; it’s the rough sea that shows you if your boat can hold.

We set out looking for truth, but it’s never where we expect it. It doesn’t come easy, and it doesn’t wait for you in the places where the light is good. Truth hides in the dirt and in the broken places. It’s buried under things we don’t want to face, but it’s there if you’re willing to dig through the mud …get your hands dirty.

Pain, though, is easier to find. You don’t have to search for it; it’ll find you soon enough. It’s as constant as the sun coming up, only colder. It doesn’t ask permission, doesn’t care who you are. But pain teaches. It cuts away what doesn’t matter, even if it takes pieces of you with it.

Adversity isn’t an enemy; it’s the rough sea that shows you if your boat can hold. You bail out the water, you patch the holes, and you steer through the storm because what else is there to do?

In the end, if you’re looking for truth, God will show it to you. Not with a loud voice, not with easy answers. He shows it in the sweat and in the blood and in the long, lonely nights. The truth is that you can’t know strength without the struggle. You can’t know light until you’ve walked through the dark. And that’s what makes it all worth it.
