Bits N B | We’d Love to Hear From You

We answer anonymous messages received at BitsnB1218@gmail.com or through DM. There are more than 60 million survivors of childhood sexual crimes. One in nine don’t report. The real number of victims is staggering but few will talk about it. We gladly will.

From anonymous:

I hope you are having a good start to this week!

Had a question and thought you might have experience with this. I’ve been in therapy for going on 4 years from the abuse. Did you say at one point that you took breaks from therapy throughout your helping journey?? I’m currently in EMDR, which has been amazing for so much. Having said that, I feel myself growing tired of what can sometimes feel like a nonstop focus on the trauma and healing. Thinking I want a break for a while to just be able to breathe. We have processed a lot of heavy stuff recently and I can just feel myself wanting to take a breather. Is something you experienced?

Dear Anonymous:

Hello Beautiful, oh my goodness yes. I took breaks for the very same reasons — I needed to get back into the stream of life. I will add that you shouldn’t look at the off time as stepping away. It is a time to process it all —basically stepping into it and allowing it to be incorporated into your normal daily routines. Your mind needs to wander in and out of it for a natural flow of subsiding the effects your feeling now. Let the waves die down. Then, you’ll know if you need a tuneup or not.

And always remember nothing can heal a broken heart but God. Let him now do his job. All love ❤️
