Have you looked closely at the intent of those that abuse? I’ve heard people describe them and I don’t believe they are understanding the severity of childhood sexual crimes.
Proverbs 2 tells of such a person, “Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men (and women) whose words are perverse, who have left the straight paths to walk in dark ways, who delight in doing wrong and rejoice in the perverseness of evil, whose paths are crooked and who are devious in their ways.”
Have you ever truly disscected and leaned in to understand that some people actively choose perverseness? That they “delight in doing wrong.” I think thats hard for most of us to accept. Where I am today and my experiences tell me this couldn’t be more true.
If we believed this, would you choose to stay beside a person like that?
Look closely at the intent of childhood sexual abusers. They enjoyed what they were doing, they spent time dedicated to keeping the secret so they could continue their abuse.
Please don’t stay by them. They’ll continue to hurt you. You can do this! God is with you. Let him protect you and move you to safety.
Get messy! Stay real.
