What if Jesus were sitting with you at your morning table, asking you for a cup of coffee. What would you say to him? What would he say to you?
This is just what Jesus is waiting to do in your life – sit beside you and chat.
Prayer so often looks like dialing heaven, waiting for God to answer in some far off territority that is unknown to you, and then speaking a few words that you hope he deems worthy of listening to. Then, you hang up. You never wait for his reply.
What a terrible relationship~ Can you imagine calling your friend, mother or father and simply stating a few words, and just when they are ready to respond, you hang up~
That is so far from the truth of talking to our Heavenly Father.
In my daily, I speak to Christ as if he were seated right beside me. He listens gently and I wait for his reply. It is a beautiful exchange that I long to have many times a day.
