What is false truth?
If you start telling the truth and it doesn’t seem to be going your way, just wait. Stand still. The story is still unfolding.
Often, things initially go very badly and then progress surprisingly well. It is only in retrospect that we can see how truly right the initial path was.
Truth-telling, especially when it is a deep truth, can reveal something disturbing or shocking to yourself and others, causing incredible destabilization. It is at this point that many people turn back and put the truth back in the box.
But here’s the thing: even earthshaking destabilization—the uncertainty, the crags, the pain, and uncomfortable feelings—isn’t it preferable to false peace?
You can’t find out if it’s real truth unless you go through this process. Embracing the discomfort of truth can lead to growth and transformation that falsehoods could never bring. In the end, facing the truth head-on, despite its challenges, allows for genuine understanding, healing, and a deeper connection with oneself and others. This journey through the turbulence of truth is what ultimately brings clarity, strength, and authenticity to our lives.
So, the next time you feel overwhelmed by the truth’s impact, remember that the process is part of the path to a more honest and fulfilling existence. Stand firm, allow the story to unfold, and trust that the eventual outcome will be worth the struggle.
