Today, my mom shared a passage from Moving Mountains by John Eldredge and in it was the line: Jesus did not die for the pine trees.

It really struck me. It’s true – he did not stretch His arms wide on the cross for the mountains, rivers, or oceans—beautiful as they are. He did not endure the thorns, the lashes, or the weight of the world’s sin for the stars in the heavens or the creatures of the earth.
No, Jesus died for you.
He saw your tears, your struggles, your doubts, and your shame, and He deemed you worthy of redemption. The trees may lift their branches to the sky, but they do not know the ache of a broken heart or the hunger of a soul longing for love. The mountains may stand firm, but they do not stumble under the weight of guilt or fear.
You, however, are made in His image—crafted with purpose and loved beyond measure. Jesus gave His life not for what is beautiful in nature but for what is precious in spirit: you.
Today, remember this. You are not an afterthought in creation; you are the masterpiece for whom God sent His Son. Stand tall, knowing that His sacrifice was personal, deliberate, and immeasurable in its love.
Let this truth carry you through whatever trials you face: He did not die for the pine trees. He died for you.
Keep that with you in your heart & mind when you move through your day. Hope it’s a wonderful one!
