On the discussion of fear, do you fear labels that other people assign you?
Walking through a grocery store, a clerk may quietly assign a title to you. Depending on your behavior at the gas station or ordering coffee someone might assign a title out loud to you. When you walk into the home of a family member, it’s like labels are sitting in the foyer waiting for each family member — scapegoat, liar, alcoholic, and on and on they go.
Do you let those labels define you? Do you know how to define the labels you’ve been given.
I try with all earnest to seek the labels that God has given me these days. My family called me a liar – he tells me I am a seeker of truth. He tells me I am his daughter and that he delights in giving me an inheritance. I am loved – that’s a good label. Worthy — another great label.
My prayer for you is that you will be encouraged to drop the labels you’ve been given and find good replacements for them.
