Jewels, Gems & Gunpowder

I would love to hear from you! Sharing Saturday with you.

A Jewel: I’m hard pressed to understand why the struggle is so hard to leave people who abuse us. Those that never ask for forgiveness and would continue to keep us in a a prison of denial. It’s not good for us. God’s love would never say — don’t expose secrets — I want you to live in the darkness of denial. That just isn’t God.

In Mark 3, Jesus’ mother and brothers arrived. They wanted to see Jesus and they sent someone in to call him to them. But, Jesus was with a crowd of people when they entered to tell him his family was outside. You see, Jesus kept his eye on the goal – eternal family. He asked, “Who are my mother and my brothers? Then he looked at those seated in a circle around him and said, ‘Here are my mother and my brothers! Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.

Gem: “To show partiality in judging is not good: Whoever says to the guilty, “You are innocent — people will curse him and nations denouce him. But it will go well with those who convict the guilty, and rich blessing will come upon them. An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips.” Those words are found in Proverbs 24. Read them again and ask yourself if this is the life you live with your family or the ones who hurt you.

If you are telling an abuser that he or she is innocent by not speaking and standing in dential to make life easier, rich blessing does not live there. But, an honest answer! There is nothing like it!

Metaphorical Gunpowder: I will be careful to guard the privacy I have built in a positive way in my life these days. While I’m not particularly a private person, I do cherish quiet time, time alone with God — a slow start to my day. I’m not going to give that away easily.

All Love!
