Words of Wisdom | Baffled

If you found a small kitten on the side of the road whose left ear had been tattered to the point that it was missing, his right eye had been poked out, and he was missing part of his back leg – what would you do with him? It’s clear that somebody had intentionally abused this kitty. Would you hunt for its family so you could return the kitty to them?

Likely, you would rush the kitty to a vet to be cared for, its injuries looked at closely, and have the appropriate attention given to the kitty. After that many of us would want to take the kitty home and adopt it.

Not so with the abused child! I work with children who have been removed from their homes, their hearts gouged, physical scars of abuse, and a mind so emotionally wrecked they feel like they’re losing their sanity. Do you know what society does to those kids? They try to find a home to put them into so they don’t have to bother with them. They try to relocate family to put the abused child back with the very people who hurt them. It’s called reunification!

I’m baffled that we treat the abused animal far better than we treat the abused child.

If you are that abused child and are grown and trying to walk through life, carefully, unnoticed and unrecognized by the world now, I want to tell you I see you! I want to find you and help you. I want to give you the tools that God has given me to grow and advance — and find love.

God sees you! I see you! Now, you see you #UCU!
