Mirror Mirror | Abusers Wear Deception Like Skin

Introspection — what better way to start a week.

Question: Do you easily call out the deception in your abuser(s) or do you deny what you see?

One of the easiest ways to stay outside of healing and freedom is to deny what you see. As children, if you came through childhood sexual crimes, you were taught denial. If you think you weren’t, think again.

Every secret touch, every secret word, every secret deed proved one thing to you — secrets are real and you must stay with denial to carry on. Your mind still tried to disprove what you were hearing, but the abuser broke you down.

If today you cannot recognize the denial portrayed in your childhood, pray about it.

Don’t change the facts to make life comfortable for today. Change today by seeing the truth of yesterday. Denial is worn by the abuser with such ease it seems almost impossible to detect but you know the difference.

Father, today I pray you wipe off the lense of deceit from the person reading these words. Show them how destable it was of the abuser to teach them denial. Show them how easy it really is to detect a liar. All they have to do is stand in the truth. Allow those recesses in their minds to open — push through the crack of the door to the past they are seeing and allow them to expose their vulunerability with truth.
Father, take their hearts back from the abuser, speak truth loudly into their soul and release their minds to heal.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
